Sclerotherapy is an injection treatment used to eliminate spider veins and small to medium size varicose veins . The abnormal vein(s) are injected with a solution that is very irritating to the vein wall. External compression is applied with pressure dressings and prescription-gradient compression hose.

The body then breaks down the damaged abnormal vein and absorbs it, ultimately eliminating the problem vein. The needle used for the injection(s) is very tiny and causes minimal discomfort. The treatment can be performed at any of Dr. Subnani's Medical Spa locations. There is no pre-treatment preparation. Post-treatment, normal daily activities can be resumed except prolonged sitting and standing should be avoided for three days and heavy exercise (weight lifting, running, and high impact aerobics) is discouraged for two weeks. Walking is encouraged. Prescription gradient compression hose are worn for approximately seven to ten days after each treatment. Several treatment sessions are usually required depending on each persons individual problem.
